Icon Plastics aims to provide defect free goods and services to its customers on time and within budget. Icon Plastics Ltd operates a Quality Management System (QMS) that has gained ISO 9001:2008 certification, including aspects to the provision of Injection Moulding & Assembly.
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
In addition to our Injection Moulding and assembly services Icon Plastics also offer a full Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) service. This enables Icon Plastics to deliver a full quality package from quotation on new tooling through to production and assembly of parts.

Inspection
Icon Plastics also offer a full continuous inspection service including:
- First Off Inspection
- Hourly Inspection
- Outflow Inspection Area for 100% checking of parts
- Dimensional Testing
- Last Off Inspection
All inspection is carried out by fully qualified inspection personnel; all dimensional testing is conducted in Icon Plastics Metrology department.
Inspection Equipment
Icon Plastics now boasts a fully functional metrology department to include a Mitutoyo MX504 CMM (Co-ordinate Measurement Machine) with Geopak Software and Mitutoyo Optical Projector (Shadow Graph). All inspection equipment including vernier callipers and slip gauges are calibrated annually and are traceable to national standards.
Quality Performance / KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators)
Icon Plastics quality performance is constantly monitored and evaluated by using Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) which are pre-determined by the management team and reviewed annually at Management Review meetings.
