Like most businesses Icon Plastics staff are our most valued assets, so resource and talent planning are key to our business. At Icon Plastics all our staff are trained to a minimum NVQ level 2 in Polymer Processing, and where possible our employees are trained in multiple jobs providing us with labour flexibility. In addition, we constantly monitor the changing needs of the industries we supply to make sure that we are ready for changes in industry legislation and standards.
Progression planning is also important, and we work with Stockton Council Learning and Skills service to recruit and train new apprentices, our skilled workforce of the future.
The sign of a good employer is generally measured by the turnover of staff and in our case we couldn’t get much better with a turnover of less than 0.05%.
